Migration
I’m moving sites, names, and domains. Pretty big, like cleaning house almost. This blog will not be used much anymore. Everything will be located at my new site
http://www.specs2development.com
I’m able to consolidate everything I want into one site that way. I can have a library for games, a blog, a calendar, anything pretty much.
Thanks for reading everything. Feel free to follow along at the new site.

Changes!
I’ve been taking a programming class since January. It is awesome. I have advanced my understanding by leaps and bounds. Sorry I haven’t posted in a little while. Life has been busy, some good and some bad.
The good: I am engaged! Hooray! Getting married on 21st September! Also yay! Going on a honeymoon across Europe! Hat-trick yay!
The bad: Mostly job stuff. Probably not wise to post it while I’m still employed here. Let’s just say that I have absolutely no idea how [company name] has managed to stay in business with their approach to corporate culture.
The other: Since I’m getting better at programming, I plan on releasing more of the stuff I work on. It will be less embarrassing which means I will be more apt to share it. That being the case, I went back and looked at some stuff from when I first started this almost a year ago. A few things jumped out at me in a negative way, and I’m kind of tweaking those. Most prominently, the name.
For the life of me, I cannot remember why I settled on <Insert Name> Studios. I imagine that I thought it was a snarky little commentary on the number of giant corporations that own a bajillion studios by different names, but maybe not. Anyway, the point is that I think it’s time to change the name. The work I put out should be reflective of who I am as a person and a developer, not “what I think about corporate culture.” I have very little emotional tie to <Insert Name> Studios. Plus, the dang html brackets make using the name on forums and the like a HUGE pain, since it usually returns empty text. So I’ve been thinking about it and I want to change it to something more personal. Here is my idea (and new logo):

Gettin’ busy
Hey! First of all, I’m engaged. Yes! Sorry all (none) you ladies out there who have been Jonesing for a piece of this, I’m taken.
Second of all, an update. I’m working on three projects right now. I HOPE all three of them get out of the “meh” phase and into the “yeh” phase where I actually show them to people.
The first project is Dinosaurs With Lasers, which is ongoing indefinitely. Still shooting for a playable alpha by the end of 2012 (counting on the world ending to save me from that one). Currently working on sprite handling and music.
The second project is PaintRunner, which has come back from the grave. Something hit me today when I was bored at work and I got a really cool idea for the game. I want to make it a racing game with like 100 cars, each with their own special powers and junk. I think it would be really fun. Like Super Meat Boy, but with cars.
The third project is brand new. It spewed from my head randomly while I was working on a defensive driving course. I wanted to make a goofy “vintage” game that I could just give away for fun. It’s called Andy Warhol Presents*: A Space Game. *Andy Warhol neither presents nor represents any part of this game. Or AWPASGAWNPNRAPOTG for short. It’s going to FUN.
I’ll post some pictures separately.
